Can we use local techniques, interpreted in a contemporary way in order to create resilient structures?

The catalan vault is a technique developed locally that is quick, low-cost and efficient in terms of structural stength.

It's important to look at the local knowledge, skills and traditional techniques in order to create structures that take into account the context that they are in. We can use this knowlege in an innovative way with the tools of digital fabrication and the principles of circular economy.

The idea is to reuse the waste material of the area, cast it in molds and create the thin tiles that the catalan vault is made of. Then use this technique to intervene to buildings and create local-sustainable rehabilitations.
